Have you ever had cortisone injections in your shoulder or other joints?

The last time I saw the orthopedic surgeon he mentioned removing the fluid in my shoulder with a needle and injecting cortisone inside the joint. I didn't say anything about it because I had no intention of having this done. However, now that I'm nearing the end of physical therapy I am willing to consider it. I'm pleased with the results I've had with therapy, but there is still swelling, pain and limitation of movement. If removing the fluid and putting cortisone in there can relieve this, I might agree to the procedure.

If you've had this done or know someone who did, what kind of a result did they get? Thank you for answering.

Yes I have had this done and it made a huge difference. I was so afraid because I thought that it was going hurt a lot. The doctor numbed the area first which felt like a tiny sting. Shortly after the injection, which was in my shoulder I had much movement in my shoulder. Turning my head side to side was not near as bad. Good Luck

I haven't had it personally, but my hubby has 3x. Twice in the knees and once in the elbow. The last time was about 18 years ago. He had the shot in his elbow for tennis elbow. When the Dr injected the cortisone he mixed it with the freezing. No problems with the shot itself. However when the freezing wore off, my husband was in alot of pain. So bad he drove himself to the hospital in the middle of the night for pain killers. He said it felt worse than when he broke his arm. He had what is called a "cortisone flare" Not everyone experiences this. After a couple of days he was fine, and never had a problem with his elbow again until last year.

When he had both his knees done. One was fine, and one hurt to get the actual shot. The long term results were good, and made it totally worth it.

Sometimes there no other solutio, than use of prednisone.

In any case a shoot in a joint is less dammageable that pills 30 mg per day or pore per os

Comrade slow a few no tennis or let help you if your house or yads is very large...

First treatement again inflammation do be to rest especially the side sick it do be the right.

In any case I would prefer the left sick in this case no treatement a bullet!
