You may be a bit too far south to get a good view of McNaught. The best time will be about 5 a.m. the next couple of mornings. It will be very low (15° altitude) in the northeast, just above and slightly to the right of the bright star Capella in Auriga. When I saw it a couple of mornings ago, it looked very much like a 5th magnitude star in my 10x50 binoculars -- I wouldn't have been able to identify it without using Starry Night software, and I wouldn't have seen it naked eye.

    Good luck!

It should be low in the northeast before dawn visible through binoculars.
