How do you report previous employers?

They did a lot of illegal things and didn't pay me right or the correct amount. They also made derivative remarks about my work history and about me to perspective employers.. How do I report them?

anything you say now would be viewed as a disgruntled employee, if you were not paid correctly contact you states hour and wage office and tell them, as far as references if they believe they are telling the truth there is nothing you can do, if they are not being truthful consult an attorney, there is no one to report them to

  • So everybody was wrong but you? Okay.

If you think a company has violated labor law, you report them to your local government labor organization. n the US that would be the state Department of labor. Remarks about your work history? Well, if they have made any UNTRUE statement, and you can prove that it was done, malicious, etc, you can try suing for slander. It's tough to prove, and you'll need a lawyer. Know that if you can't prove your point, you can be hit with legal costs

Anything they said, no matter how damaging, that IS true, is allowed.
