Could there be a mileage discrepancy?

So I thought that it was impossible to roll back the odometer with todays cars, but I was told that it can be done. i am increasingly alarmed by the cleverness of crooks to get around established safety systems.

Therefore, my question is: Besides the carfax, and vin #'s on the dash and drivers door, is there any other way to reveal a clever mileage roll-back cover up????

The new Gm cars that have a digital dash keeps a copy in the computer for us to verify the miles.

Depending on the kind of car no I wouldn't worry about it thought how many people really do this? if it has a 5 dig odometer and it says 40,000 miles chances are is 240000 or so on. MY advice is take the car to a mechanic and have him look at it you can tell if the mileage is accurate by performing just a few test not the exact mileage but if the car is wearing correctly for the advertised miles.

    lay off the weed.

If 1 out of 10,000 cars miles are rolled back, are you really going to lose sleep over it ?

Your mechanic should be able to tell the mileage of the car without looking at the odometer anyway.
