What is the problem with my cats' hair?

I have two cats. One is a short hair and one a long hair. The long haired cat has something like snarls in this fur, on his back and on top of his hind legs. Some of them can be cut away, but the large one on his back is too close to the skin to cut. The short haired cat has had these and I was able to cut them out. They also sometimes have something like dandruff-little & white. They don't seem to have any unusual itching.

It's completely normal for a long haired cat to get mats. The best way is to brush them daily after going to a groomer who can get those tough ones gone. Also, get a pair of grooming scissors for animals and cut out the start of any mat that starts to form while it's still little. Cats just like to roll in dirt and get all gross! And long haired cats have a harder time keeping the tangles out of their own fur.

This is nothing to worry about. The big snarl might have to be shaved off, but that would be no problem. All you would have to do is take it to a groomer or vet and they will handle it. The nots in the cats fur are just because he has been rolling around and geting his fur tangled. It happens to my cat all the time. I try to brush my cats fur out every day that is possible to prevent them.

    Hope I Helped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
