I broke my back a couple years ago and am paraplegic (paralyzed from my chest down), got dating help?
Recently I've come to terms with everything (as much as I think I can, anyway) and decided to live my life again. I'm 100% independent, use a manual wheelchair, drive, go to work, etc. - so my life is pretty much as normal as anyone who can still walk - but I don't know how to begin to start dating again. I'm almost 29 and feel like I really need to get moving!
So I have a couple of questions:
1. @ guys - I don't need help, I do everything I used to, only sitting down. I play hockey, I go out 'walking' or 'running' a few miles at a time, so clearly I'm not someone who needs help. My disability is only a burden to me, and I don't really even see it as a burden. Do you consider me damaged goods? Is someone in my position something you'd stay away from dating-wise?
2. @ other paraplegics/quads/disabled folks who are independent and don't rely on caregivers - how did YOU get back into the dating world? What problems did you have, if any?
Thanks!

P.S. - I'm female. I think the hockey part confused some of you - my fault!

I think you sound like an amazing person! From a girls point of view, stay confident, positive, get out and have some fun! I love how you don't let your disability hold you back and I think your going to get a lot men who will admire that in you. Good luck!

You are in no way damaged goods! The fact that you have come to terms with your accident is apealing to women it shows you have strength theres some women that dont like difference then theres others like my self who embrace difference and think its unique we all have parts of us that are different than others weather it be a limp or paraplegia . I accept everyone and so should everyone else :) I wouldnt stay away :)
