Cat peed on my CD player?

Oi, cat pee is very difficult to get out of anything if you can't just throw it in the washer... my suggestion? Get a new CD player. If you can't get to the pee inside to wash it out, there's no hope...and since it isn't a good idea to pour water on the CD player, you might be outta luck...I've lost many good things (mostly bean bag chairs lol) due to cat pee.

Lightly and evenly mist all the outside surfaces with an enzyme pet-odor remover and wipe it clean, then spray it again and let it dry thoroughly and see if that helps. Make sure you read the product label before you use it and only use one that does not say it could damage plastics. This sounds completely nuts, but you could also try letting it dry for a day or two (after the cleaning) in a box with several charcoal briquets you'd use in a grill placed around it. Charcoal absorbs odors and can help get rid of bad smells in a lot of things so it might work for this too.

Just out of curiosity, did you happen to catch him in the act? If he was squatting with his tail held horizontally, it was urinating but if he was standing with his tail up that is territorial marking. Figuring that out might help you prevent it happening again.

Is your cat neutered? If not he's marking & weird stuff like that will continue.

If he is neutered he's trying to tell you something. You need to figure out what's bothering him. I'd start with a trip to the vet. Urinary tract problems can be VERY painful!

I guess either way the best thing to do is take him to the vet.

Oh yeah...the CD player- I wouldn't even think about trying to clean it. My advice is to buy a new one.

If your vet did not do a urinalysis there's no way a UTI can be ruled out. If it wasn't done it definitely needs to be.
