  • is osteoporosis hereditary?

My mother has osteoporosis, and I`m worried that I may get it later on in life. I`m 18 now, and take vitamins on a regular basis, eat a well balanced diet, and drink plenty of milk. Am I taking the proper precautions in order to not get osteoporosis? Is it even hereditary and could I be at risk at getting it, despite my vitamin intake?

  • Can a teenager take vitamins that are meant for people who are 50 and up?

I`m out of my usual vitamins and its important that I take them because I need the iron. We do have vitamins for people who are 50 and up. Is it ok if I take those, just for a few days, until I can get more of my usual vitamins? I`m 18.

  • Can the sugar in apple juice lead to weight gain?

I`m trying to drink a lot more water than I normally would because I found out I`m dehydrated. I have been diluting apple juice and drinking it that way, since I think its easier to drink a lot of it than plain water is. It`s mostly just water, but I add apple juice in it to give it a better taste. The bottle of apple juice says no sugar added, but on the label its 28 grams of sugar. Can it be just as bad for you as a coke?

  • My heart rate is scaring me?

I have been on Adderall XR 30 mg almost my whole life for ADD. I am 18 now and it was brought to my attention that my resting heart rate is in the upper 90s, sometimes 100s pretty much all the time. I did a little experiment a couple days ago and didnt take the meds for 2 days to see if coming off the stimulant would decrease my heart rate, but it barely did anything to help. Is it possible that the adderall screwed up my heart rate? Should I see a doctor? I`m 116 pounds. I was told to drink a lot of water every day to get my blood volume up. The idea is that I`m dehydrated, but I`ve been drinking all this water for about a day and a half now and nothings happening. My blood pressure is always a little on the low side (110/70, but most of the time its lower)

  • Am I drinking too much water?

My pulse is very high. I mean over 100 at rest. And my blood pressure is low. I heard that I need to be drinking one ounce of water per pound of weight per day in order to get my blood volume up. I weigh 116. I`m 18 years old. I have been drinking all this water, I just started this since last night. This didnt even come to my attention until a couple days ago when I tried to donate blood and they said I couldnt because my pulse was 135 and they took it again and it was 119. I wasnt nervous; I wanted to donate blood.

Do you think this will even help? My pulse does seem to not be quite as high as usual, but still pretty up there. Like 90s and upper 80s. I`m getting worried and thinking about seeing a doctor.

  • My pulse is always high?

I tried to donate blood the other day and the nurse did all the tests and my iron at first was too low to be acceptable and then she tested it again and it just barely made it. My pulse the first time was 135 and then she took it again and it was 119. I`m not anxious or nervous because I want to donate, but they wont let me with a pulse that high.

Is low iron and high pulse rate related to one another? How do I make my pulse go down? Its always high. I took my pulse several times throughout the day today and the lowest its been is 94. I`m kind of worried.

  • Help me make my house smell lovely?

I am having people come to my house all the time now for my job and since nobody can smell their own house, I want to make sure mine smells good. I`m lighting candles every day, opening windows, I`ve heard about boiling sticks of cinnamon, but I only have ground cinnamon. Can I still use that?

  • Is a 61 key keyboard worth the money?

I really want to buy a keyboard. I took piano in school last year but this year my schedule doesnt have room for piano. I miss playing it and I want to get one of my own so that I dont completely lose all the progress I`ve made and forget how to play it.

I am a musician, but only have knowledge of string instruments. It seems like the only keyboards for a reasonable price that are for sale anywhere are 61 keys. Seeing that a real piano has 88 keys, is a 61 key just a toy? Im thinking that once I progress more in my piano book, I will have to use the high and low keys that wont be there on a 61 key piano. Would a 74 key piano be a bit better?

I am a high school student, and dont make that much money. I`m certainly not going to go out and purchase a 600 dollar 88 key keyboard!

  • Cat peed on my CD player?

My cat peed on my CD player and the smell is overpowering and disgusting, even though he is neutered. How do I get the smell/excess urine out of the CD player without destroying it? I think some might actually be in the speakers, either that or the battery pack. Lets hope its in the battery pack!

  • Chicken pox booster for 18 year old?

I`m pretty sure that I only received one dose of the vaccine in my childhood. I think I might want to get the booster because everybody I know says they`ve gotten the chicken pox, so I`m guessing its a pretty common disease to catch.

Can I still get the booster at age 18? I`ve always heard that chicken pox is much worse when you are older than when you are a baby, so I definately don`t want it.

  • Is it possible to have an ear infection without any pain, just a slight discharge?

This is gross, but its not like I can help it. I`ve noticed that my right ear has been leaking this bad smelling discharge. It does not hurt at all, and its not leaking enough that its coming out of my ear. I found out about it one day when my ear was itchy so I stuck my finger in it to scratch it and it was unusually damp, like there was water in it from after you take a bath. Is it possible that it may be infected? Will it clear up on its own? Its been like this for about 2 weeks now.
