The UN is composed of mostly anti-American interests. If it were up to me, I would disband it and send half of those diplomats home. It would be useful to have a coalition of free (or relatively free) and friendly countries. I think the UN does more harm than good and accomplishes almost nothing except wasting money and time. And no, the IPCC still has a very important job to do in synthesizing the huge body of climate research into information for the general public and governments. Believe it or not, lots of research has been done since 2007, and lots has been learnt, so there is plenty more for the IPCC to report.

No. Although we know humans are driving global warming, there is still a lot we don't know. In fact the IPCC has said for its next report it will shift its focus more to the impacts of climate change and how we should go about reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. I think this was an excellent decision which will maximize the usefulness of the next IPCC report.
