Kitten problems with biting.?

my kitten Pickles has a really bad problem with biting.Biting Noses. If u lean in to pet him he jumps so high up to your face and bites ur nose.If i don't put him in his cage at night he will sleep with me for most of the night and when he is bored he will come over and bite my nose. when i kiss him on his head he goes up and bites the nose. I always say "Pickles Eva,u are a NAUGHTY little boy" and put him in his cage.

Update:

Pickles is about 3 months old.

My cat used to do it too. Lol, he's trying to keep me from typing right now. So freaking cute. Anyway, he could just grow out of it, but if the behavior continues as he ages, when he bites just kinda jab the roof of his mouth with your thumb. That teaches them not to do it. You can also give him a little tap on the nose and tell him "no", or even the classic bite on the ear.

My wager is that as a tiny kitten she gave you little 'love bites' and additionally you gave it no concept. properly, she has gotten larger, and having on no account been knowledgeable to no longer chew, she would be able to do it and now it hurts. She would not understand extra ideal, yet she would be able to study. Water squirts are reliable for education, yet often at a distance, like while she is on a counter. She desires to appreciate right this moment that what she is doing isn't favourite. and because she is on the top of one hand, you very gently faucet her on the nostril with your different hand and say in an enterprise voice NO! you additionally can very gently cup her face, conserving her mouth close and say NO! jointly as pointing your different hand in her face. you at the instant are not attempting to punish her, purely prepare her to provide up biting.

This is a behavior you want to stop. I have had good luck with this technique. It works, but it DOES take time. I call it "I don't want to play."

When the kitten bites you, you must become very still. Do not pull away, do not move or make noise, even if it hurts. When he lets go, move away. Do not say anything. Do not look at him. Do not touch him. Do not interact with the kitten for at least one full minute. Not a long time, but enough to let him know you do not like the game.

I have used this method to make my own cats stop biting me. And they even stopped playing with my yarn when I knit. They did not think it was fun if it did not move or make noises. We got to the point that, when one of them does bite me accidentally, he lets go immediately and actually looks shocked that it happened.

Source(s): personal experience with 2 cats who bit (out of the 5 I have had).

Pickles is just teething. If she chews on you pull away and firmly say no and thump him on the head (LIGHTLY DONT HURT HIM PLEEASE!) This teaches him not to do it. Get some teething toys for him to chew on. Don't put him in his cage, it doesn't help. Hope I help! xoxo
