Question about whether or not this is haram?
I am a muslim and of course I am planning on fasting for the upcoming ramadan in aug. I have a constrictor snake and if you are not familiar with them, I feed it mice/rats. My question is whether or not it would be haram to raise the rats in my room inside of a cage in order to feed them to my snake. Thanks....
The reason i am asking this question is because it seems kind of inhumane to be breeding rats and taking care of them just so they can be fed (killed) to my snake. But then again, if I found it to be sinful to begin with, I guess ramadan is no exception.

I don't think so.
But I'm not 100% sure.
I don't see no reason why not.

how does feeding of your snake correlate with fasting during ramadan?
oh.. it's probably the same like coming into a sandwich shop and ostentatively asking what are the meatballs in meatball sandwich made of, because you do not eat pork... when there are three or four obviously non/pork versions of sandwich filling.
aka. stirring troubles
fasting rules do not apply to your snake, anyway.
even if they would, feed him before ramadan, and after. it will make it easily, snakes can starve for months, if in good condition at the beginning of starvation.
regarding the rats, if there should be a problem about them during ramadan, remove them for the duration of festivity.
if there is a general problem with having ïmpure"animal of some sort, either get rid of the animal that needs them in its diet, or get rid of religious dogma.

If you're comfortable breeding rats in your room, that's your thing.
Why would you expect to find a ruling on this? No, of course there's nothing about it in the Quraan = Not Haram.
