My big fat Cat playing with 1 pound kitten.?

Ok my 1 year old cat Naboo is just jumping around and wrestling with my 1 pound kitten Pickles who is 3 months old. Is this safe or no should I separate them?

Update:

thank you Naboo is just playing with Pickles. Pickles has been raised with Naboo. Naboo is Pickles' Aunt but has raised him as if he was her own.

Kittens will naturally wrestle with their litter mates. This is a good thing, as it helps their social development. As long as Naboo is being playful, let them play together. That's a wonderful sign they are getting along. It may seem rough to you, but it's very normal behavior.

However, if Naboo exhibits any signs of jealousy, tries to scratch the kitten or bares his teeth, this may be a problem. It doesn't sound like this is what your cats are doing, though.

As long as the older cat isn't trying to fight properly and harm the kitten, then there just playing around, it may look rough but the kitten should be OK. So the answer is, it should be safe for them to be around each other but you may need to watch them in-case the older cat suddenly becomes violent with the kitten.

As long as you're not noticing any signs of aggression (showing fangs, arching back, fur standing up), they should be fine. It normal for kittens to want to play with other people or animals in their new family.

You're actually very lucky, my cat would never be able to accept a new kitten into the house. and older cats are usually annoyed by playful and hyper kittens.
