34w 4d, anyone else feel like this?
Ok here goes, In the last few days my baby boy has become engaged. I get low pressure most of the day and even though this is baby #3 for me, I don't remember the other two becoming engaged before labor. Well now that he has dropped I have been feeling weird, it's hard to explain. Like my stomach doesn't feel as big and even though he is still moving it feels so much different. I feel less pregnant and I have to go on a road trip (midwife said it was fine) tomorrow for 3 days without my husband and this weird feeling is freaking me out. Has anyone else just felt different after baby dropped? Any thoughts or advice would be great as long as helpful :)

Yup all three of my girls dropped at 34 weeks.
That is exactly what it felt like each time.
My belly felt smaller and it was easier for me to walk and I felt better than I had in the past couple months. His movements feel different because he is stuck in your pelvis now, so he is just moving and rolling, with some kicks in there. Also your belly feels smaller because he has dropped lower into your body so his bum is lower and in a different spot now. Dropping also gives you more room to breathe and less heartburn and more of an appetite or able to eat more.
Good luck!!

I've read that when the baby becomes fully engaged you'll go about another 2-3 weeks. The only reason I believe there's any sort of truth to it is because I was in the hospital for preterm labor at 34 weeks and they said the baby's head is VERY low. After being released I went to my follow up appointment at my doctor's office and she kind of hinted she was thinking I was going to go to 36 weeks. I'm 35 weeks now and I've been feeling the same way you do with a "smaller" belly and getting a lot more pressure down there, but I've been feeling this way for a couple days now. My stomach also feels heavier if that makes any sense but heavier and lower I don't feel like I've gained weight. I'd say just minimize the physical activity you do on the road trip with your husband. And if you start feeling contractions or anything call your doctor immediately.

Yea. It is normal to feel different after the baby drops and feel alittle weird. every pregnancy is different, so maybe with your first two babies, they didn't drop this early, but this one did for some reason. I would discuss these concerns with your doctor, but im sure everything will be fine. If you start contracting tho, or feeling a lot of pressure, it may be best you don't go out of town. but other wise, you should be good to go. good luck.
