The unforgivable sin?

Ok, this is a question that has been bothering me for some time and I have to ask it. Why does an unforgivable sin exist? If a Christian commits the unforgivable sin, could they lose their salvation? I was always taught that no matter what, you can't lose it, but it seems that this sin could contradict that.

BTW I am talking about Mark 3:22-30

It's unforgivable because you don't allow yourself to be forgiven.

When the scribes and Pharisees complained that the devil was giving Jesus the power to heal people, they were essentially saying that they didn't need what Jesus had to offer: the Holy Spirit's healing power.

We have free will. If you don't ask for something, God doesn't override your free will and force it on you.

But if you ask for forgiveness, it's always there for you. Once you ask, you aren't making yourself unforgivable anymore.

Jesus was quoting Numbers 15:30 as a Jew he would not have used the name of God so he substituted Holy Spirit. So the unforgivable sin is one that you meant to do and you are not sorry for. You can not lose your salvation but you can throw it away.

The "unforgivable sin" in this passage is "blaspheming the Holy Ghost." Since it is the Holy Ghost that does the convicting to draw a person to Christ, if a person were to reject that calling then they would essentially be blaspheming the Holy Ghost. So when God offers the gift of salvation to someone through the convicting power of the Holy Ghost and he rejects the gift, then he is condemned. This is because he did not accept God's gift when it was offered. This is especially important in this passage because Christ is talking to the religious crowd who was accusing Christ himself of being possessed by the Devil. Christ retaliated by saying that only God can remove demons or devils from someone. This is a picture of salvation. Only Christ can make us clean. As for "losing your salvation," no man can pluck any of God's sheep from His hand (John 10:29).

I hope this is an adequate answer to your question.

The unforgivable sin is insulting the Spirit of grace. In the case of Mark 3, it was ascribing the clear demonstration of the Spirit's power to Satan. This is an insult because the demonstration was given in order that those who witnessed His power might believe in Christ. When God gives repeated and undeniable evidence of the truth of Jesus Christ, and we continue to dismiss it and explain it away as fraudulence, coincidence, or the work of Satan, then we have exhibited that there is nothing that can bring our hearts to repentance and faith in Christ, and therefore we are unforgivable.

I fear that there may well be several individuals on Y/A who might fall into this category, though I pray not.

earlier you leap to conclusions we could undergo in ideas that there has been huge study completed for our income, i'm specific you have the Library DVD, form interior the scripture you're having a undertaking awareness and seem up all reference cloth. I did this with Mark 3:29 one reference is as follows: The Greek “Aion.” “Age” may additionally communicate with a volume of time in guy’s historic previous, regardless of if having or no longer having datable bounds. it truly is often used to translate the Greek be conscious ai·on? (plural, ai·o?nes) in some translations. Greek lexicographers tutor the be conscious to recommend “area of time of course defined and marked out, epoch, age,” and additionally “lifetime, existence,” or “age, technology.” on condition that an epoch, or age, can start up and end or it may circulate on constantly, it follows that ai·on? might desire to communicate with a volume of time it somewhat is limitless, nevertheless having a commencing up. for this reason, as recorded at Mark 3:29, Jesus mentioned that the blasphemer against the holy spirit became to blame of “eternal [agelong, perpetual, eternal] sin,” or a sin in no thank you to be canceled out at any destiny time. a similar expression became used with reference to the fruitless fig tree, the place “constantly” interior the Greek is truly “to [for] the age.” (Mt 21:19) At Jesus’ start the angelic promise became that “he will rule as king over the domicile of Jacob constantly [actually, into the a while].”—Lu a million:33; see TIME INDEFINITE. saying that sinning against the Holy Spirit and eternal sin are the comparable isn't somewhat real, close yet what Jesus is explaining is why sinning against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable- it truly is because of the fact it truly is an enduring sin so saying it truly is an enduring sin explains why it is going to be unable to be forgiven. no person could unknowingly sin against Jehovah's Holy Spirit it truly is the reason Christ died for us and if we die we can be resurrected as Acts 24:15 explains. Sinning against the Holy Spirit is the 2nd loss of existence from which you would be unable to be resurrected thereby being a eternal sin- you will constantly be ineffective!

The "Unforgivable sin" is merely rejecting the call of the Holy Spirit when He calls you to God's salvation through Jesus Christ....same thing as not accepting Christ. So, no, someone who is a Christian already wouldn't be committing that sin.

Chris has basically answered the question as I would .... Blaspheming of the Holy Spirit came up on the Alpha Course I did. So basically if someone continually does this then eventually they get to the point that they aren't forgiven.

The unforgivable sin is rejection of the Holy Spirit's influence from your life. The Holy Spirit is the source of the graces of repentance. It is His voice speaking to us through our conscience, calling is back to God when we stray. Once you deny the holy Spirit access to your life, you can no longer repent, your conscience is effectively dead, and therefore you cannot be forgiven.

It is not true however that you cannot forfeit your salvation. This is a dangerous manmade tradition that no Christian on earth ever heard of until Protestant fundamentalists dreamed it up a couple of hundred years ago. The Bible says "He who endures to the end, he SHALL be saved". Obviously then, many turn away before they reach the end of their lives, and are not saved. Paul says that he disciplines himself so that after having preached salvation to others, he himself might not be disqualified! (1 Cor 9:27) Obviously he didn't think he had a guarantee of salvation!

Evil spirits to accept as Holy Spirit.

And also it's unpossible to repent in suicide. But one should know that God is Greatest Love and Mercy.
