Um, Okay, maybe you should try reading the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. The first book is Eragon. It's almost as good as Harry Potter and you'll get over the whole annoying vampire obsession.

Or you could try the Immortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. It has real, unsparkling vampires in it.

Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks begins a great fantasy series that can be read by almost any age reader. However, there are no vampires. Also the Alchemyst by Michael Scott which the beginning of a young adult series that involves all sorts of interesting beings.

    You can try

    Artemis Fowl

Children of the lamp (for slightly younger readers but quite interesting)

Mean Spirits Series by Meg Cabot

Goddess of Partholon by P C Cast

    Narnia

    Hope this helps.

Well, it's not a vampire book, but it's good nonetheless: The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

Yup!! I have TWO awesome YA series that are really good (that haven't been listed yet) -

Jeri Smith-Ready's WVMP Radio - They are DJ vampires living amongst humans (this one is recommended for 16 and up)

    Here's the Reading Order Guide:

    http://www.maryse.net/reading-order-guide/jeri-smi...

She also has some free short stories on her website that tie into the series (I listed them on my website on the reading order guide above)

and I reviewed the first book here:

Also Rachel Vincent's "Soul Screamers" series is very popular too!

    "SOUL SCREAMERS

The last thing you hear before you die…"

    I hope this helps!!
