why do some kids get croupe all the time and others never get it?
My son is on his 4th case of croup and is only 3 yrs old but I never had it even once as a child. My husband and his two sister none of which had this.

part of his immune system. just like some get rashes easier and some get colds. all it is a bad cold. my son has had it 2 times each winter since he was born. he turns 3 in NOV so at least one more time before he turns. but my oldest daughter and my youngest never get it. it is just something that happens. it is how he reacts to a cold brought into the house from somewhere out there.
