Why, when I plug my ear phones into the front of my computer does my computer play outloud?
Then when I unplug them there is no sound at all?

i dont know. on my computer, when you plug in earphones, it plays the sound from them instead of the computer speakers. When you take the earphones out, the sound goes back through the main speakers.
Its a 2009 iMac desktop if it helps.
