We were changing the U-joints and he also damaged some of the aluminum. Wish I never used him. He was in WAY to big of a hurry and beat the crap out of everything. Anything I need to look for that he may have screwed up hammering away?

You really don't need to align a drive shaft but if he has dented it you need to get it out and take it to a truck shop and see if it is still balanced. If it isn't you are going to need a new shaft.

If the shaft is balanced, in theory it shouldn't matter what position it is mounted in. As for the hammering and banging, that is another story. You shouldn't need to pound on the shaft to get the u-joints changed. For a few bucks you could have had this done at a driveline shop, and had them check straightness and balance as well.
