Doesn't much matter. They're similar products. Flip a coin if you wish.
It's meant as a supplement for mother's milk (if the child's appetite is more than the mother can handle) or as an alternative if you decide not to breast feed. Just remember what specific brand and formulation is opted for, and always use the same formula (not just the same brand). For whatever reason, babies will sometimes develop a taste for a particular kind of baby formula and may refuse to drink anything else. Alternating between formula and mother's milk doesn't have the same problem.
Baby formula is pretty expensive stuff, so you wouldn't want to be stuck with a case of the brand the kid won't drink.

If your baby doesn't have any special needs, the two are the same. My girl was on Enfamil but ended up having a milk allergy so Similac Alimentum became the only choice. If she just needs the basic formula, our doctor told us that Similac Advanced and Enfamil Lipil Premium are exactly the same and interchangeable.
Just a note that you get more manufacturers checks in the mail for Enfamil than you do Similac.

If for whatever reason you aren't breastfeeding. I would try one and see if baby takes to it well etc then if not choose the other. We used similac with my son and he did great on it. But there is great non brand formulas that have same nutritional value as similac or enfamil and they are cheaper essentially not breaking your bank.

What about breastfeeding? Far more natural choice, it can save your child's life and its free. You don't have to worry about a recall or running to the store in the middle of night to get more. It comes straight from the tap at the right temperature with no hidden ingredients that could cause harm to your child. It doesn't need to be prepared. The only choosing you need to do is right side or left side. It doesn't leave your baby stinking. Or stain your clothes. It decreases your trips to the doctors office and decrease the amount of time that you have to watch your precious child be sick.

You don't have to pick one.
If you are unable to breastfeed (or choose not to) you can use any formula that the hospital has available. Once you are discharged, you can continue to use the one you started with, or switch to something less expensive or, if baby doesn't do well on the formula, either reconsider breastfeeding or try (with doctor's supervision) a special formula.
All standard formulas are pretty much the same -- all are adequate.

I used Enfamil with both and they never had a problem with it. I prefer the Enfamil GentleEase because its partialy broken down and easier for the baby to digest,

every formula is the same, and have to meet FDA standards for infant nutrition. Some babies may be more sensitive to one brand over another, but most will tolerate any brand.
I'm quite surprised that the hospital is pushing you to choose a formula. Most hospitals are very pro-breastfeeding (and rightly so), and many are now banning formula samples.

I prefer Similac because that's what seems to be the #1 brand used in hospitals all the way back to the time when my mom had us kids, 45 years ago.

Breastmilk.
The hospital should be encouraging this. Not trying to make a buck by selling formula.

enfamil.
My baby girl was fed by enfamil and was great,My daughter was healthy and she love it.
Similac is also good but not best as Enfamil.
