There are hundreds of different individual careers that would involve micro-biology. If you could be more specific, that would help narrow down which field you are more interested it. Some of the fields that are heavily reliant on an understanding of micro-biology include:
Medical services
Environmental sciences
Genetics
Biological laboratory services
Forensics
Pathology
Pharmaceuticals
Food sciences
Waste disposal
Animal services (vets, zoo keepers)
Field research of any plant or animal

Biotech, clinical trials, pharmaceutical companies, research, orking for the CDC, WHO; working in a private lab or a hospital, even soils, agriculture?
If you like it, if it interests you, do it. You could always teach. As you get further into your major, you will learn of more opportunities in this field. How about starting your own pharamaceuitical start-up company?
