People have been burning korans on YouTube for years now?

Oh no! You better not post this! If Muslims see it they will riot in the streets, burn the American flag and make death threats! Oh wait... they have already done this. Many times throughout history, not just over this little Koran bonfire.

A YouTube video is nothing.

Jones' Koran burning would have been nothing as well.

Until the media got a hold of it, fanned the flames, and wreaked havoc, all in the name of ratings.

Even though Muslims consider Qurans to be holy because they contain the words of Mohammed, the YouTube Quran burnings are different and not as much of an insult as Jones' threat. Part of it is the overwhelming news coverage of Jones' threat and part of it is his timing. This week marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting during daylight hours. Its end is the Muslim equivalent of Christmas Eve, Christmas and Easter all rolled into a few days of celebration. It's a very big deal in the Muslim world. It's a coincidence that it occurs with our Sept 11 remembrance this year and with Jones' threat to burn their holy book. A lot of American Muslim congregations have canceled or postponed their celebrations out of respect for 9-11. Their brethren in Muslim nations probably know about the sacrifice the American Muslims have made. (Imagine canceling Christmas and Easter.) They are also celebrating the end of Ramadan in these countries so a load of coverage of some American nitwit threatening a Quran burning party is doubly insulting.

haha, i wipe my *** with a koran that i get from the library every day, and then return it. Sometimes i wipe bacon grease on it too.
