How can I keep my cat warm during the winter?

I just recently got a cat and my mom is allergic to fur so we put her out in the barn. Well we don't have electric out there and it's a metal barn. Any suggestions?

If you love your cat, you'll find her a home where she can safe and warm INSIDE. If she is spayed and up to date with her vaccinations it will be much easier to find her a good home.

    good luck!

Barn cats usually stay warm by burrowing into the animal bedding. I'm sure she would appreciate it if you gave her a mound of hay and an old blanket somewhere a bit separate from the other animals but near enough to be in the warmth they create. Introduce her to the area a few times until you are sure she feels comfortable. The most important things are to make sure she is in the barn when you close it up for the night, and that she regularly has water that is not frozen. A few cats are better than just one as they learn to keep each other warm by sleeping together. Of course you'd want them all to be fixed so you wouldn't be adding to the cat overpopulation problem.

ON EDIT: Also, use a monthly flea control on her to make sure fleas are not sucking her dry. She'll do better if she's not anemic.

jointly as i don't comprehend having "puppy" cats outdoors we've had strays manifest in the time of the wintry climate and because i'm an animal lover I finally end up feeding them and giving them disguise. I positioned 2 totes outdoors, like rubbermaid, one on authentic/interior the different so there is purely a small area that they are in a position to circulate in and out. which will block the wind and the snow that we arise right here. I then throw some previous towels/blankets/rags in there. be sure you verify the towels/blankets/rags in many instances. in the event that they're even the slightest bit damp change them out for some sparkling dry ones. in case you do no longer suggestions them being on the porch set up the makeshift residing house under the disguise of the porch. The roof will help extremely.

Maybe try getting some fleece blankets for her and/or just blankets in general. You can get her anything that's soft and warm and I'm sure she'll be able to survive.

You should get a cat snuggie for he or she.
