What is the CA law that requires a vehicle operated primarily in state to be registered in state?

I remember hearing that there is a state law in California that states that if you are using a vehicle primarily in CA, you must register it in CA. For example you can't live, work and drive in CA and have your vehicle registered in Washington.

It's section 516 of the Vehicle code.

Go to the CA Dept. of Motor Vehicles website. You'll find the info there. I forget whether it's 30 or 90 days after you move there to change the registration and license.
