What kind of alcohol to serve?

I'm throwing a bonfire party for my birthday next weekend. I was originally going to avoid serving alcohol as not many of my guests are terribly interested in the smash-face drunk type of college party, or even in drinking much in its own right, but I thought it would be nice to have something alcoholic to offer for the few that wish to drink in a casual, adult manner.

My question is, what would you offer at this kind of party for a group of non-heavy drinkers who do enjoy a casual drink here and there? Beer? Wine? Any particular brand? etc.

Thanks!

Big question, because it depends upon what your friends like to drink. A lot of people are either beer or wine drinkers. Some people like dark beer, others light beer. Some people only drink red wine others only drink white. In my family of Italians, it's almost all wine. You can't accommodate everyone's taste, but do you know what your friends like to drink when they do? Go out to dinner with them and observe.

Next, what are you planning on serving for food? The beer, wine or spirits should go with the food. If you're having a bar-b-q, I'd get some lighter beers (maybe Corona) some darker beers (like an Ale) and some wine. People say red wine with beef, white with chicken, but that isn't a stead fast rule. Don't go with a really cheap or expensive bottle. About $8 a bottle of wine should do it. Don't over do it and buy too much. If you're having Mexican food, I'd go with beer and margaritas. If you're having Italian, wine. If you're having Japanese, saki and wine.

BTW, even people who enjoy a drink in a "casual adult manner" (whatever that means exactly) might enjoy a cocktail. Just because I enjoy a margarita doesn't mean I drink four and get blasted. But I might enjoy a slight wine buzz if I've arranged for a ride home. And though a majority of my friends would enjoy a drink, we're not the type to get blasted. Just don't serve too much and encourage them to have a ride home. Personally, I would skip the hard apple cider, that is a specialized taste, and much too sweet for a majority of people who enjoy a drink or two. A little pretentious too.

Mostly, relax and have a good time. Whatever you serve, your friends will have fun.

Tequilla break of day. that is observed as a break of day, so it must be a morning drink, acceptable? lol. they are extremely yummy, and made with Orange Juice, that is a morning drink. you would possibly want to also do a screw driving force, on the grounds that they are made with OJ, too. I merely nevertheless imagine the break of day section makes acceptable sense. Champagne and OJ is a good blend, too. A zinfandel wine is an somewhat fresh drink that could want to paintings properly interior the morning, also. i'm prepared on French toast with strawberries/cherries and funky whip.

Dude, beer goes on all the occasions. Though if u wanna make a real stylish one, get a bottle of vodka. N u can make few different cocktails. Few like:

    White grape martini

This could be the ultimate summer drink. Pour 2 oz. of vodka over ice in a shaker. Add 4 oz. of white grape juice. Shake vigorously, pour into a martini glass and garnish with two frozen grapes.

    Vodka and cranberry

The classic combo can be poured over ice or shaken. Use 2 oz. of vodka and 4 oz. of cranberry juice and garnish with a lime.

    Screwdriver

This simple vodka drink uses 2 oz. of vodka and 4 oz. of orange juice. Pour these over ice and stir. For a twist, you can add a splash of lemon-lime soda.

    Vodka tonic

This one is pretty much just like it sounds. Two oz. of vodka and 4 oz. of tonic over ice. To fancy it up, squeeze in some lime.

    Salty dog

Shake 2 oz. of vodka and 4 oz. of grapefruit juice together. Serve it over ice in a salt rimmed glass.

    Get creative

With all the different flavors of vodka available, you can let out your inner bartender. Make up your own signature vodka drink that's simple and delicious. Because vodka pretty much goes with anything, you can mix it with whatever you've got in the fridge. Just be sure to drink responsibly.

i would say you can make a few drinks

first i would make ginger lemonade

very simple squeeze 3 or 4 lemons add a twoliter of lemon lime soda add a two liter of gingerale one two liter of soda water. add a couple of slices of fresh ginger. boom serve on ice. delish

    for sangria

buy a cheap red preferably not a dry red. mix with a bubbly white and some brandy and fruity schnapps if on hand. make ice cubes from fruit juice or soda. i like to use frozen grapes for ice . add some chopped up fruit and let it chill for a while so the flavors can blend . it is awesome.

Hornsby's hard cider is nice by a bonfire on a crisp autumn night.
