contractions 10-15 minutes apart and mucous plug just came out...39 weeks and 4 days?

At my Dr appt on 9/23 I wasn't dilating at all. I have been having regular contractions all day. At about 10 min apart now and my mucous plug just came out. Will this speed up contractions? This is my 2nd child, but 1st was almost 17 yrs ago so I don't remember.

Thank you

not always. Mucous plugs can fall out weeks before delivery. However if you are feeling contractions regularly that close together you need to call for advise. Thats pretty close together. I had those kind with my second and very little pain. Thankfully my water broke first which prompted me to go in and if it had not I wouldnt have known I was in active labor till about an hour before she came.

I think you're having a baby honey, but then...my mucus plug came out and my water broke and my baby came out in the space of an hour. We're all so different. Stay in touch with your midwives /doctor/hospital. Keep breathing! and have a safe delivery.

At that close call your dr and tell them whats going on they will direct you wether or not to go to the hospital but usually if they are steady and that close they will direct you to go to the hospital
