From a christian understanding; spiritual adultery is to go after strange gods, and to forsake Christ The Bridegroom of every believer. Do folk actually do this? Well, some forsake christianity and are persuaded to rub crystals, hug trees, worship nature, adorn and worship idols (I'm not speaking here of icons, although there is a real danger with that too). Some, including religious leaders think they can be pagan and christian all at the same time. Some are persuaded that they can be 'New Age' and christian. Spiritual adultery is everywhere, and in fact has been around ever since the Garden of Eden.

From a christian perspective there is a severe consequence to involving ourselves in spiritual adultery. We believe that God says what He means, and means what He says in The Bible. One thing God constantly warns us about is spiritual adultery. Even money can become a god, and can rule over us if we allow it to. It is not money that is evil, but the love of money (when we put it first and foremost in our lives) is the root of all evil. See anything deceptive and destructive (drugs, prostitution etc.), then we can be certain that the love of making lots of money is behind it. Money, sport, sex, and many other things all have the very real potential of becoming a god.

Christ said that to look at a woman with lust was like committing adultery in your heart. He was saying not every sin constitutes an exterior act. Some sins are confined to the heart and mind and can do as much damage to our soul. Jesus was also showing that there is a sequence of events that leads up to adultery. First; Looking upon another man's wife; second; lusting after her, third; committing adultery with her.

Worshiping Idols.

Spiritual adultery is taking a false teaching and saying it comes from God. Christmas is a good example, christmas is the pagan sun god Tau festival, his symbol is the cross. This was and still is the day when pagans offer sacrifices to the sun god Tau, Easter is another, Easter is the Queen of Heaven whose symbol is the rabbit for she is the goddess of fertility.

When you take paganism and pass it off as true doctrine, this is spiritual adultery. The Bible calls false religion a harlot, she is an empire of false religion know as Babylon the Great and we are told at Revelation 18:4 to get out of her or we will be destroyed when she is destroyed.

ITS WHEN SOMEONE CHEATS ON THEIR WIFE/HUSBAND BY FUC KING ANOTHER WOMAN/MAN

Physical adultery: Betraying your husband / wife by having another person taking his/her place.

Spiritual adultery: Betraying God by having another god, person, object or even idea taking His place.

Being untrue/unfaithful to God

In scripture it is called spiritual fornication. Read the Book of Hosea. It is about a wife who was untrue to her husband and yet he took her back. It is a book about how Israel played the harlot with pagan nations and yet God took her back.

BABYLON meaning the church in today's world,means people that eat their own bread,drink their own water and preach their own gospel.it just means the bible is being taught to suit the people,s ideas.
