Should you think "me first" or "others first"?

Does true happiness come from helping yourself or helping others? Why? Proof?

    I once knew a man who put others first. He was always pleasant and happy.

    He seemed to spark everybody. Only man I ever met like that and he had

    physical problems to overcome.

    I have known many many people who put "me first" and that is ok because

    that is how we live today. That is different than the people where "it's always about me".

    They are hard to abide.
