Savory grits should be eaten with butter and salt, while sweet grits, naturally, require sugar. Even though I am originally from the South, I never developed a taste for grits, but I did develop a taste for rice sprinkled with sugar and a little warm milk for breakfast.

I love grits but I've never had them with sugar! Salt and butter, or cheese grits. I like to sprinkle Herbamare herb salt on them, too.

Butter and salt. If you get a chance, try shrimp and grits. I had some at a restaurant in NC. Very good!

salt, butter, and a few chunks of cheddar cheese put on the sides so its still thick at the top but runny at the bottom, I love to let the grits just sit for a while to thicken up as well.

I was raised here in Ga & we always had salt & plenty of butter. I still love them that way, but every once in a blue moon, I'll mix in some grape jelly & have grape grits!

Definitely! Salt with lots of butter and sometimes an egg.

Pepper and hot sauce for me, sometimes cheddar and ham mixed in. My aunt was a pure Southerner and taught me to love grits.

Ooh, I never thought of Tabasco, I'll have to try that.
