computer is out of RAM?
hello im having trouble with my Dell....im trying to install Mcafee Total Protection but the problem is I keep getting an error message saying "there not enough sufficient memory to install this program"...
I understand that....my RAM size is small because the computer is old.....it only has 128 MB's of RAM on it.....what I don't understand is why the computer is only telling me this now if I just had Norton 360 on there?!? a whopping 512 MB's of freaking RAM!!! plus I just installed Firefox and Office 2010 without incident.....
this is ridiculous, all those programs are no problem for 128 MB's...but not for Mcafee?!?!
perhaps if I put some more details the first poster might actually learn something about computers.....yes it DOES pertain to the RAM size on my computer......and im sorry for leaving out details but there are only 2 other programs installed on my HDD because I just clean installed XP.....My HDD size is 160 GB more than enough to run Mcafee....I know this because my laptop has the same sized HDD and it's running Mcafee and well over 30 programs just FINE.....
just what are you trying to say? the HD has enough memory left on it....because its clean....there are only 2 programs on it......
the RAM is no issue either because the 2 other programs are bigger than 128 MB's....

Do you realize the difference between RAM and HD space?
RAM is only temporary memory that gets wiped every time you restart your computer. HD space is the actual space where you can install programs.
So, your computer is not telling you that your RAM is used up.

BIG LOLZ buddy , well RAM and HD (hard disk it totally different )
your PC is telling you that in the part you are Installing the software isn't empty , it need more space ,
Ram is temporary memory , buddy , just remove your unnecessary thing from your HD then install the software , that's it
