Any morticians out there?
Hello, my daughter is graduating high school this year and would like to be a mortician. She does have muscular dystrophy which limits her physical aspects. Lifting heavy items is very hard for her. We were just wondering if she is physically capable of doing this type of work. If you know anything about this please answer back.

Hi Lisa T,
When in college, I lived and worked in a Mortuary for almost 6 years. I did everything, even the embalming. I don't see her having a problem doing any of the duties necessary to accomplish her work well. I still have tons of information on Mortuary schools, Mortuaries, etc. Know all she would need to know and any questions she may have. I would rather you email me with anything further, otherwise I could/would go on and on here, but don't really know what else she/you would like to know.
Great career though I think!
Don't mind the email at all, or any questions. Even the strange ones...Because I'm sure she has them!
If not, I think she is capable of succeeding in this great career path!
Take care!

I don't think she will have any problems. I know two young women who are morticians and they enjoy their work, and find it rewarding to help families at a very difficult time in their lives.
