5.1 Surround Sound on a laptop?

I have a HP DV6-2120tx laptop that currently has a 2.1 Altec Lansing computer speaker system connected to it. Would it be possible to get a 5.1 sound system hooked up to it with decent sound quality? It has an S/PDIF port if that helps.

Yes. Having optical (Toslink or S/PDIF) outlet you will be able to connect it into a home theatre system and use the surround sound on that to get excellent sound quality from your speakers.

I was researching your computer and the sounds card you have. HP's website and SRS's website both done give specifications on how many channels they offer. Unless the laptop has a digital out, 9 times out of 10 S/PDIF connections are only two channel. In general, most laptop are not designed for surround sound.

There are cards that can be installed in desktops for 5.1 sound but laptops are limited in what one can add on. You are kinda out of luck if your laptop does not already offer 5.1.

I had a number of comparable matters. The video motive force help for Bioshock and Crysis the two had me banging my head. i finished up making use of "immediately" Nvidia drivers from the type up (GT version of the comparable element) and manually (tension) put in them. worked like a champ. in case you opened it up and bumped off and/or no thermal paste, you should reapply some clean. do no longer circulate overkill on the paste. you will finally end up inflicting greater injury.....
