Schopenhauer's will to live?

Please correct me if I do not understand this wrong.

Schopenhauer's idea of will is that when we as humans try to think of the purpose in life, we may come to conclusions that there is no purpose in life. But when we come to this conclusion, we believe in no purpose in laws in nature or laws in the universe, that there is no objective to anything in nature.

Thus when we reject objectivity in the universe, we reject the universe and therefore come to the conclusion that what we perceive as reality is pointless and nothingness. But the fact that we are afraid of this nothingness means that we still have a will to live and that we know nothing of this universe other than our own desire to survive.

phew! that took alot of thinking, did I understand Schopenhauer's concept of will?
