Can anyone help me with my cat?
She is about 6 years old and got a hole under her eye close to her nose from play-fighting with my other cat. It looks like a claw got caught in her face. The sore clots and starts to heal and either the other cat licks the scab off or she rubs her paws against it and it breaks off.
So I have drops of blood in various places in the house (especially my beige bedspread.) Is there any kind of salve or ointment I can put on her sore to make it heal fast? Is there any way I can bandage it?
I can't afford to keep taking her to the vet and this bleeding has been going on for about 2 or 3 weeks. Help!
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I would clean off the wound CAREFULLY, as to make sure to not get anything in her eye then apply some Neo..and put a control collar on it. That's prob. the cheapest route. You can buy them for next to nothing at a Petsmart or Petco. That may be your best bet, but keep it clean, because the last thing you want is for an infection to occur..which is common for cats with this type of injury if not properly maintained. But if this is causing your pet constant pain take her somewhere where she can get properly treated because it's just not fair to her.

Do NOT use Vaseline. If there is an infection within the cut, which I would assume there would be dirt in it b/c the scab keeps being ripped off, Vaseline will prevent anything from going through and it will trap dirt, and bacteria within the injury and then you'll wind up with a REAL infection.
Try massaging Neosporin on the cut and then fit her with a cone.
When cats have injuries, or if any animal has an injury and the doctor wants to prevent them from picking at it or licking, they fit them with head cones. That way any injury will be untouched.

Buy her an Elizabethan collar or other wise known as an e-collar. It will help keep her and the other cats from scraping it off. She only needs to wear it until she heals. You can buy them at most pet stores for $5 and up but Ive seen them on sale for $2 once. Your cat will still be able to eat and drink but you might have to make special arrangement for her to reach it to her mouth.

My cat had a sore near his ear from ear mites, we put antibiotic cream on it everyday and bandaged him with this white bandaged that wasn't too sticky, but sticky enough to stay on his head for awhile. She may not like it, and she'll probably look silly, but it will help her from scratching the scab off.

1. dilute peroxide with water and pour over wound.
2. clean with diluted betadine solution then dab dry with clean bandage
3. dab on an antibiotic ointment
Do all three steps at least once a day - twice is better but they sometimes don't want to cooperate.
If the cats face starts swelling or eyes get runny & leak pus you will need to go to the vet for antibiotics.

Put some Neosporin on it and don't bandage it. Like Holly said, an Elizabethan collar would help but it's hard to see your cat in one of those and they don't like them.

Oh yes! All the time lol, it makes me jump up with fright and say sorry (cats name) and then I realise it is just one of the cats rubber balls that I am stepping on. It is so funny when that happens! lol

Is it infected? maybe you can call your vet & tell them you cant afford the visit & they can give you medication only? you cant have that poor cat bleeding all over.
