Are you part of the problem?

Do you ever look in the mirror? Do you accept any government handouts? Do you take unemployment because it pays more than the job you COULD get? Do you vote for your Senator or Congressman because he "brings home the bacon?" Are you bought and paid for by the US government? If so, how do you justify it to yourself? Is this where the passion comes from? Pure selfish-interest?

    Yes I do and no I don't.

Most of the nation's problems stem from the perversion of good intent.

I'm trying to be part of the solution.

I collected unemployment for a while last year, and it paid less than half of what I had been making when I was working. My expenses didn't drop proportionately, so there was a little problem there...

Anybody who thinks Unemployment checks are an incentive to not find work is nuts. I was overjoyed when I finally cobbled together enough part-time work to no longer qualify for any assistance.

I don’t take any government handouts and I work for my paycheck.

I think pretty much everyone in politics are corrupt. I have disdain for the entire system.

I am part of the solution.

    I do not take handouts.

    I do not take unemployment.

I vote for my representatives and senators because they support my idealogy.

I am not bought and paid for.

However, I do not believe that the "rich" deserve their wealth just because their great-great granddads made it, sometimes illegally.

I do not believe the poor are all poor because they are stupid and lazy.

I do not believe that if someone actually needs a hand, that society should turn the cold shoulder to them.

the only real assistance I've ever accepted is funding for my public education and grants for my college...

and now I'm a productive member of society... paying taxes...and I fully support using my tax dollars for similar programs to help others become productive members of society...

Certainly, only YOUR side is rational, honest, good and snappy dressers.

Yes, only your side-the holder of all things good and rejecter of all things bad.

    Black and white, ya know.

It's a good thing your side has every single answer, if only that other side would stop interfering (because everything they do is bad-even when they do good, it becomes bad because it comes form them).

Yes, it's all everyone ELSE'S fault.

THEY need to look in a mirror, not you or your side. Nope, not at all.

Source(s): "Groups hold their beliefs in high regard and will strive hard to defend them, and such striving includes resorting to collective self-deception.… Probably the easiest and most obvious way to distort collective memory involves the selective omission of disagreeable events. Events that make one’s social group look bad can often be ignored or expunged from its memory. An import of memory distortion involves focusing on actual or presumptive misdeeds by one’s enemies or opponents, to the extent that even one’s own misdeeds can be minimized as mere responses to the enemy." -Roy E. Baumeister & Stephen Hastings, “Distortions of Collective Memory,” in Collective Memory of Political Events, 1997
