I put the tree up as a Jesse /Advent tree with Advent and Old Testament decorations early in December;
on Christmas , i started putting up Christmas decorations about Jesus' birth.
I will leave them up until the middle of January and some until Candlemas Feb 2
I did not turn on the Christmas lights until Christmas Eve
Christmas time is just starting
There is the Christmas Octave til Jan 1
then 12 Days of Christmas to Epiphany(Jan 6)
The Baptism of jesus(mid jan)
and The presentation of jesus in the temple (Feb2)

My family tends to take down the Xmas tree a few days after New Years.

This is the fuzzy period between Christmas and the New Year. NOTHING happens in these days. So the tree is still up.

Never had one.
Decorated trees and pretty lights don't sit well with the memories of endless family rows and the tragic loss of two of my favourite pets.
Not everyone likes this time of year

I just decorated a tree, given to me by a friend, a couple of days ago. I'll take it down after new years.

Tree N Lights came down yesterday, tree was dead and shedding..... Rest all came down today..... Now I gonna get house back together and in order.... Might take a few days.... go in peace.... God bless

It's pretty, it was hard work and it fills the empty space in that corner so well.

The lights come down after the New Year. Pretty, pretty blue and white lights. The neighbors think I'm Jewish, but I do it to honor our Lord Jesus Christ and His Jewishness.
