What does Lao Tzu mean by Tao or "the way!" I just don't get it.?

Please, explain it in laymen terms!

Also, does anyone else find Tao Te Ching difficult to comprehend, despite its uncomplicated nature?

Tao is Way. What is Way? That which is harmonious and natural.

Tao means "The Way." It means the path to take in life. It's akin to not seeking answers, but better understanding the questions of life.

In our Western tradition we want answers to how things work, why things happen, and to have understanding about things around us.

Taoism, and Zen, is about learning to just be with life. There are no answers to have, just be with the way things are.

It's kind of a way of untangling the mind.

It means the spiritual path, as opposed to what you do with your external life.
