Can you help me? I have a quick question about my rib...?

For about 10 years off and on, I've had rib pain. Most recently, it has gotten severe and makes it hard for me to lay down on my left side. It is not an organ, but the rib bone itself. It hurts in front in the middle of my ribs. Sometimes, I get slightly short of breath with it - but not always. It hurts and is a dull ache.

Could it have been fractured and I didn't know it? Or maybe it healed crooked after an unknown fracture? Should I be concerned?

Have you seen a chiropractor? Because your rib can be out of position and a good Chiropractor can get it back in. I had that happen to me, and what your describing sound the same only mine didn't last that long because I got adjusted. Good luck!

You should at least call your doctor and ask those questions you just posted. Deal with the pain until morning (well, it a bit after midnight where I live) and then ask the question to your doctor. IF a fractrue is the question and that turns out to be the case I reckon it will be very sore for awhile. Think about what happened that may have even caused a possible fracture, then ask yourself if that event triggered the pain. Either way your doctor will far better be able to answer this.
