PA resident, dog law question?

So more or less I live in a duplex with a landlord. We both have dogs and I trained mine not to bark unless she needs something, but theirs they let do as it desires and if it starts to bark they just leave it outside until it stops, this is pretty much at all hours and it wakes me up and keeps me awake frequently.

I know its not the dog's fault they pretty much ignore it, my question is, is there anything that can be done about it in a legal sense as talking to them proved hopeless.

Unfortunately As all laws apply to people, there are laws that dogs or actually dog owners must follow. There are the leash laws and the laws that don’t allow the attack of a dog against another dog or another human. But there is a law that can help people who are affected nightly by barking dogs. The law is similar in most states but the law in NY is that you must stop your dog from making any unreasonable noise. That means a dog can bark, but you can’t let them bark for hours and hours on end.

You should first try tactfully confronting the dog owner and stating your concern and it seems like for did that already. My question is: are you the only one affected by this dog? Stating to Your landlord that their dog is keeping you up Is affecting your work and can affect their rent may work.. Also offer to train their dog.. See your problem stems from your landlord and that puts you in a put up with it or leave position.

Barking dogs ordinance Unlikely in Horton Township

    Ridgway Record - Ridgway, Pennsylvania - October 14, 2004

Pennsylvania State Police Can't Enforce Town Ordinance Against Barking Dogs.

The Horton Township supervisors discussed the possibility of a barking dog ordinance. "Everyone has a right to own a dog, but neighbors surrounding the area have a right to peace and quiet," supervisor Rick Genevro said.

Residents on Whetstone Road are having a contentious dispute over one family's dogs barking.

According to the supervisors, a complaint of disorderly conduct could be called into the state police in response to dogs barking, but state police have no jurisdiction to enforce township ordinances. The township has a noise ordinance, but the supervisors would have to appoint an enforcement officer to handle violations of that or a new ordinance.

The supervisors urged the residents to resolve the matter on their own, this maybe your only bottom-line

I'm doing basic obedience right now. My trainer hasn't once handled my dog. He has shown me how to handle my dog by using his own dog but that's about it. The reasoning is that I need to learn how to do these basic corrections and what not myself. Learn more https://tr.im/gPKax

I have never considered sending my dog away for training. I guess I haven't found that much of a problem with him to even think about it.

Again, it may also have to do with the level of training you are looking for etc. No idea lol. I'm not a trainer. I think a first time dog owner needs to learn simple commands and how to handle their dog themselves as well.
