There is freedom in having your freedom taken away.?

What do you think?

Update:

Monks don't get to choose how they like their eggs in a monastery. They eat what is put in front of them. The freedom to eat what they want has been given away. Some that are imprisoned find a sense of freedom in not having to make decisions, in fact they will often find it difficult when they leave. Many, probably subconsciously, get themselves rearrested just to get back that freedom they had in prison in prison. Maybe it's a freedom from responsibility? What do you think?

Choice. Free will. These things can be stressful and hard to make. Not having the freedom to choose relives you of the responsibility to choose and having to deal with the consequences. The freedom from that responsibility is the freedom you speak of.

there isnt freedom in having you freedom taken away, but there is safety, my teacher explained it like this, you give up your right to drive 120 miles an hour on the highway, in exchange you get the satisfaction knowing that you are going to be safe because everyone has to follow the same rules

you can have freedom, or you can have safety, you mix the two together and you have a demeocracy

We're victims of sedition on an open sea

No one ever said that life was free

Sink, swim, go down with the ship

Just use your freedom of choice

I’ll say it again in the land of the free

    Use your freedom of choice

    Freedom of choice

In ancient Rome there was a pawn

Who followed along and watched it fall

    He cast a stone

    He felt secure

He felt that he would never be heard

    Freedom of choice

    Is what you got

    Freedom of choice!

You've been given a voice- you don't want it

It seems to be the rule of thumb

Don’t be tricked by what you see

You've got two ways to go

I’ll say it again in the land of the free

    Use your freedom of choice

    Freedom of choice

    Freedom of choice

    Is what you've got

    Freedom of choice!
