Any short story ideas based on the innocence of children?
I have an English task based on "The Catcher in the Rye" and i need to write a story talking about how the main character wants to protect the innocence of children. The story is completely unrelated to the book but that is just the central theme. If anyone has any ideas at all it would be greatly appreciated.
An example could be a story of a child who tells people that mythical objects aren't real- and consequently steals their innocence. But that is not too imaginative.
Thank you so much for your help.

You could tell a story about a girl who believes in the tooth fairy, but comes to find out that the tooth fairy isn't real after being assured by her parents that it was. As a result of this revelation, the child begins to question whether or not her parents are really her parents, whether there really is a God, etc.
Could make for some good reading....and hopefully a good grade! :)

For comedy, Little Man, How High, Scary Movie 2 and 4, American Wedding, Who's Your Daddy and Without A Paddle. For horror, The Amityville Horror, Saw 1 and 2, Grudge 2, Ring 2 and maybe Seed of Chucky which has some laughs. For action, The Marine, DOA-Dead Or Alive, Kung Fu Hustle, B-13, The Great Challenge and Stormbreaker. For romance, Princess Diarries 2. For animated, Open Season and South Park(Asses On Fire).

A father who is so obsessed with the corruption of the world that he doesn't allow his children to watch TV or use the internet or have any contact with strangers. This can then backfire when his kids go to school and they are like helpless lambs ripe for the slaughter. You can make the point that it is impossible to filter out corruption from a child's world; it is only possible to help them deal with it.

A man who has "protected" his child from the world all his life, due to an expirience in his childhood. The child is inquisitive, and while his father is away, he uncovers a terrible secret. The child is lost forever, and the father goes mad. I'll let you pick the secret lol
