if i am going to be on social security disability how would...?

would I receive extra money to help pay for rent if i were living alone and less if i were living with parents? or would it be the same amount regardless of where I am living? do they go by household income?

I am asking because if they go by household income, it would be better for me to move out before applying so I could be able to pay my own rent, right?

Would I get extra income if i move out before applying, and/or would the amount increase it if i were to move out after applying? or does this not work that way? any info appreciated.

Update:

so suicide and drug sales are my only options?

Social Security won't pay you any extra money per month for things like rent. You need to contact Social Services, or Family Services in your town and ask if they or the state have any programs to assist you in paying rent. Some cities have local programs to help people with low incomes pay for things like rent and utilities. Check into those too.

No. There are two SS disability programs. SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) you paid into through FICA payroll taxes, and earned credits, and SSI (Supplemental Security Income) for disabled people with no. or very limited income and assets under $2000

SSDI amounts are determined by how much you paid into the program. SSI is based on YOUR income and assets. Limit for SSI is $674 month.

When on disability, the amount of money you get is based on what you have made over the last few years. Its not the state's responsibility to support your entire way of life.

Unfortunately, it won't be much unless you've made a ton of money in the past.
