Well, it's been a while since I saw it but, 12 Monkeys.
Bruce Willis plays James Cole, a criminal who is trying to earn a pardon by going back in time and finding information about the origins of a virus that has wiped out most of the worlds population.
During his time in the past, he is locked up in a mental institution. Kidnaps his psychiatrist. Is pursued by police. And finally dies at an airport where James Cole as a child is there to witness his own death.
12 Monkeys is a violent dystopian masterpiece.

Soylent Green w/ Charlton Heston and Edward G. Robinson and the other film the Planet of the Apes w/ Charlton heston bot were very good films!

Resident Evil: Extinction; I love them all but that's my favorite of the Resident Evil movies.
