Shoujo, or Shonen? That is the question...?
So what would you rather watch? Shoujo anime or Shounen anime?
I would personally watch Shoujo, but only good ones, some Shounen, like Soul Eater.

Shounen. I've always preferred action and adventure to romance. Being a girl, I'll occasionally watch some Shoujo like Ouran High School Host Club (didn't care for it in the first few episodes, loved it by the end though), but generally speaking, the whole guy/girl wants another girl/guy and proceeds to pursue them kinda bores me, which is what most of the shoujo's my friends have recommended to me are about. I just like the edge of your seat feeling that comes with a good action/adventure shounen.
I was raised by RPG playing, Star Wars and Indiana Jones watching, video game geek parents though (and wouldn't have had it any other way), so my perspective is different than most. XD

Shounen - For boys ages 15 years or lower
Shoujo - For girls 7-18 years old
Shounen are almost likely to have Action and harem sometimes
Shoujo sometimes have strange character design which is inspired from shoujo manga's and always about School, romance
Shounen for me i often watch
Naruto Shippuden
Fairy Tail
and other action shounen genre

Shoujo for me. I can only stand a shounen anime if it has a nice storyline like Naruto, Bleach, Ranma 1/2. Rurouni Kenshin, Jyu-Oh-Sei.

I prefer Shonen. I don't really care for romance (although I'll watch/read good ones)... Oftentimes writers of Shojo don't do well with stories because they try to make it too romantic.
Shonen's usual more about storyline, which I like. There's still romance usually, but it's undertoned and not as important as more serious things, like it should be. Plus it's more exciting!
