When/who first came up with the idea of having *chocolate eggs* at Easter in addition to the traditional eggs?
He or she deserves a Nobel Prize! But I am really curious to know when this started. (I already know all about why there is an egg tradition for Easter, and earlier Spring Equinox holidays.)
I want to know about the Chocolate!

Chocolate originated from the Aztecs. It was brought back to spain and traded all over the old world. It was refined and made into shapes by clever chefs during Medieval times, then brought over to the US. I do think it was around victorian england where the chocolate easter eggs became prominent, but don't know for sure. It was around the industrial age in the US I believe when the idea or giving these treats seemed to take off and "run amok" so to speak. Interesting though.

confident you could genuinely purchase chocolate Easter eggs. My in demand are Cadebury eggs.. yum! The custom interior the U. S. is to paint and conceal confusing boiled eggs. in spite of the shown fact that, a lot of human beings conceal Easter baskets or little plastic eggs packed with candy. My grandma used to place quarters interior the plastic Easter eggs.
