Has anyone gotten pregnant while not fertile?
I was wondering if anyone has gotten pregnant even after having intercourse after ovulation?

Fertile means you're either close to ovulation (about 5 days prior) or that you've recently ovulated (within 24 hours). If there is no egg present, will be no egg present for more than 5 days ahead, or it's already been 24 hours since you've ovulated, you CANNOT get pregnant. Pregnancy occurs when sperm fertilizes an egg, so if there is no egg, you cannot get pregnant. Everyone says you can get pregnant at any time in your cycle - this is very false. If you know your body well enough to tell when you're fertile, (you can do so by keeping a calendar, tracking your cervical mucus, monitoring your basal body temperature, etc.) you can keep track of ovulation and either get pregnant if that's what you're aiming for, or abstain or use protection during that time.
Many women do not know their bodies or have extremely irregular/short cycles so ovulation is not always alike for them. That is why they can get pregnant during times when women with regular and longer cycles cannot - hence why people say "you can get pregnant anytime you have sex." You have to be fertile in order to conceive, so if you are not fertile when you have sex, you cannot get pregnant, period.
I hope this helps and good luck to you!

In order to get pregnant an egg has to be present- that means seamen needs to be already in place just prior to ovulation, during ovulation, or immediately after ovulation- if egg and seamen didn't meet up the egg dies off within 24 hours and secretes the hormones that signal to stop ovulation- when the hormones that indicate pregnancy don't develop then the uterus sheds its lining... Pick up a copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler- it's everything you could ever want or need to know about your cycle. Don't be put off by the size of the book- large print, on large pages with lots of diagrams and charts... Seriously, get it. It's like the uterus bible. Amazing.

If they got pregnant, they were in fact fertile. They were just not fertile at the expected time.
You cannot get pregnant without an egg. If a person got pregnant, there was an egg. Even if it appeared when they thought were not ovulating.

You cannot get pregnant unless you are ovulating. It is impossible. There has to be an egg present for the sperm to fertilize for pregnancy to occur, and eggs are only released during ovulation.

Paris i have to disagree.. U CAN get pregnant any time of the month no matter what. Durning ur ovulation time which is 2 days before ur period if the most possible time to concieve. Other wise I wouldnt have been able to get pregnant with my now 6 yr old.. I waited till after my cycle and 2 days later had sex ended up pregnant 2 weeks later... SO yes it is possible..

You can get pregnant any time of the month including during your period but you have a higher chance during ovulating.
