My wife is about 13 weeks pregnant. Why is she acting totally crazy?
I think I'm a good, reasonable husband. I am supportive and try to be empathetic to her. I really try to go over the top to take care of her. Everything I do gets a totally emotional, crazy response, and she tells me I'm mean. I feel emotionally paralyzed and terrorized by her. I'm afraid to do anything because I feel it will result in some emotional trauma. I love her, but I totally hate my life right now.
Thank you all for your great answers. I seriously thought I was alone in this. It complicates things that I live with her in her country, and I feel so alone.
Yes, it is her first pregnancy and our first child. We've almost been married 2 years.
This has been a week from hell and I don't even want to be in my own home.
I rarely go out at night without her. She was at her friends' house last night having a girls' night and went home after 11pm. I took the opportunity to unwind a little and go on a long motorcycle ride alone while she was out and came home at 12:30AM. I even texted her and told her what I was doing. Because I wasn't home when she arrived she started texting and calling me and threatening to leave me. When I got home, she was sitting outside on the ground crying in front of the driveway, and I had to plead with her for 15 minutes to get off the ground and come inside. I can't believe this behavior.

its the hormone imbalance... lol it should even out within a couple of weeks.
She's moody because her body isn't used to the pregnancy hormones, its what causes moodiness and nausea etc.
i was the same way at the beginning of my pregnancy, it calmed down a bit after a while. but i still have my days. Just don't take her craziness the wrong way. She's going through A LOT of changes right now.

Just try to remember that it is not personal. Her hormones are going wacky and she is probably totally stressed and freaked out if she is a first time mom. Also, as a man it may be difficult yo understand what she needs right now. What has worked in the past may not work now or be what she needs.
Make sure you keep the lines of communication open with her and let her tell you what she needs from you.

I was the same around that stage lol.. It's the hormones. Nothing she can do about it, so don't blame her or blame yourself. I only had crazy mood swings for a couple of weeks in a row, but still get them occasionally.. It's part and parcel of pregnancy I'm afraid! Just remember, it's the bodies natural chemicals doing this to her- you're not doing anything wrong and she really doesn't mean to bite your head off!

she is emotional 3x more then u r right now and everything that u do for her she is loving it but she just doesnt know what to feel at that time because she is feeling every emotion there is at once. just keep doing what u r doing and it will be all wroth it in the end because u guys will have a baby but just dont think that once the baby is here that the emotions are going to go away nope they stay around for a while.

You just have to remember that it's almost like an alien is taking over her body. Serious, I was crazy at the beginning of my pregnancy but I have gone back to normal. It will eventually end and you will forget all about it when you hold that wonderful baby in your arms!

awe poor you! lol you will have to deal with that for the rest of the time, she cant help it. Its her hormones, im sure it hurts your feelings, but you have to be supportive as much as you can even if she dont want it. It will be worth it!
