The first gospel wasn't written down until about 40 years after Jesus' alleged death. Until then, it was handed down by word of mouth. So if you've ever played the game "telephone," you'll get an understanding of the reliability of the Bible. And that's before the countless translations, interpretations, edits, reinterpretations, etc.

Jesus Christ is the living Word God.
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Joh 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
The new testament has recorded many of the things Jesus said and did...and all the books contained in the Bible were written by God's involvement.

Just the word of the Romans who wrote it all, invented Jesus and the church and christianity, and they did not intend for any of that to be anything good, nice or clean.
