Pippa's dress really for Kate?

Right after the royal wedding, it was reported that upon exiting the church following the wedding, a friend of Kate's was overheard to say that the dress Pippa was wearing was the dress Kate really wanted to wear herself, but knew she had to wear something more conservative. Apparently Kate wanted William to see what she would have worn and also that she wanted the dress to 'be in the Abbey'.

The story seemed to get squashed very quickly. Has anyone else heard this?

Sry for posting here, but figured this category have more 'dress' watchers.

Update:

Kate didn't want William to look at her sister, but rather the dress. A friend told me it was one of the talking heads still blabbering long after the ceremony was over. Apparently network hired a lip reader, Kate's friend said "She got her wish, both of her beautiful wedding dresses walked down the aisle at Westminster Abbey" .. and yes, both dresses were by the same designer, using the same materials.

I could see that being true, since Pippa's dress was FABULOUS and more in line with what a contemporary, fashion-forward bride would wear at her wedding. And of course Kate would have a ton of say in the MOH dress. I don't have anything to back it up though.

Kate's dress was amazing, but I'd take Pippa's for my own wedding any day!

I had not heard this. But it was a really cute dress. I was surprised it was white, but the bride must of had input into it, wasn't it by the same designer as her dress? And Pippa looked good in white. One of the wedding TV announcers acted like Kate had no idea Pippa had chosen that gown, and what color it was. I doubt that, so much. Kate chose it, or at least said OK,I would bet on it.

I thought she might have trouble moving in it, since it was not full skirted, and cut kinda low, but she did what she needed to do with grace.

And the dress style did not clash with her sister's gown.

Oh, I've heard so many conflicting reports during the wedding and immediately after wards. I don't know what is truth and what is someones imagination. It's not worth worrying about, in my opinion.

I loved both dresses. I really doubt Kate would want William to look at her sister and see what she wished to wear. That does sound rather odd.

I thought that Pippa looked beautiful. But I do not think that dress would have been suitable for a bride. Kate dressed exactly as she should- like a girl with class

Never heard of that, but even if that was the case Catherine could not have worn that dress, because as the rumor itself said, she needed to be covered up.
