Delay in refund 4th date now?

Mailed my refund Feb 14 since I have had delays on wheres my refund and three different dates. I have called twice now each time stating it had to do with paying back the 500. first time homebuyers (which I did on my return) Can not get any info on when it will be processed. I have received nothing in the mail about a delay. Is there anyway I can get any info on my return. Should I mail a letter or send a fax somewhere? Do they even get read if I do?

Update:

Have called them third time was tonight. Still nothing other than a delay

Update 2:

That was mailed my return not refund. That was the only way it could be sent was not possible to efile with the first time home buyers at that tme.

As for injured spouse what the heck are you talking about? Who said anything about a spouse at all. This is a single return.

IF you really did mail your REFUND $$$$ amount on February 14 2011 you sure did make a terrible mistake when you mailed the REFUND to the IRS.

NOW your income tax RETURN would be another matter 1040 forms and schedules that you had to fill out correctly and completely and sign 1 copy to send to the correct IRS address with the correct amount of required postage to get it delivered to the correct IRS address and 1 copy that you kept of your income tax RETURN that you sent to the IRS.

Take the original tax forms and schedules with you and your spouse and go to your local IRS office and ask them very nicely and politely if they can assist you and give you some information about when and what your next step should be since you say that you did NOT fill out the injured spouse form correctly and NEED to know what you should DO about it at this point in time.

May be they can give you some good face to face advice on what your next step should be and be sure to thank them very nicely and politely for taking the time to help you with this matter.

In addition to the FTHBC issue, the IRS is also running their fraud control programs in high gear this year.

Many people with a large refund, or a large amount of withholding relative to their wages is having their refund delayed until the IRS can compare it to the W-2s from the employer (verifying both the wages and the withholding). Those posted last week, so the backlog should begin to reduce.

There were major problems with processing returns paying back the 2008 credit. But it should be straightened out by now. Call the IRS and ask them what's going on. Good luck.
