Needing some advice for Nausea?

For as long as I can remember I have always gotten nauseous at random times, especially if I get excited about something. It used to be that I could just wait it out and it would go away but now it varies. Sometimes it will go away on its own and other times it builds up to the point that I actually get sick. I am getting married in less than a month now and I want to make sure nothing like that happens on the big day. Any tips on something to do before the ceremony to keep it from occurring? I've noticed mention of acupressure bands for nausea. Has anyone had any positive results with these?

Nausea from high anxiety is usually caused by (over-)stimulation of the vagus nerve. If you are looking for something other than self-soothing/calming skills, you could ask you doctor for a one-time prescription for Zofran. It is an anti-emetic (anti-nausea) that reduces activity the of the vagus nerve. It is typically given to pregnant women w/morning sickness or those undergoing chemotherapy. I, personally, use it to help w/nausea associated with a gastric condition.... it is *wonderful*!! It is also non-narcotic // non habit-forming, so no worries there....

    Hope that helps!!

i also get a lot of nausea, and i find it really helpful to sit/lie still and take your mind of it - i find taking my mind of it the hardest part because i just think its still there and it wont go away - buuuut there are some great websites online to rid things of your mind. im sorry that you feel like this and good luck for the big day - if you do get nasuseas just think nothing going to happen so its all going to be perfectly fine.

however i do know a way that i use that helps me rid nausea (sorry if it doesnt work)

i tap the top of my eye x2 (quick taps)

the bottom on my eye x2

the bit above my lip x2

    below my lips x2

above my chest (on throat) x2

    on my hand x2

then again the other side x2

sorry if it doesnt work xxxxx

Excitement, stress and other emotions can cause nausea so you have to try to relax more, stay calm and try not to get too worked up or agitated.
